Committee Inquires Into Handling of Clear Program Personal Data

June 25, 2009 (WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX), Chairwoman of the Committee’s Subcommittee on Transportation Security Infrastructure Protection, and Rep. Christopher P. Carney (D-PA), Chairman of the Committee’s Subcommittee on Management, Investigations, and Oversight sent a letter to Gale Rossides, Acting Assistant Security of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regarding cessation of the Clear Registered Traveler program, the handling of personal information by the company that manages it, and TSA’s involvement.
