Rep. John Hall Congratulates Fellow West Point Board of Visitors Member John McHugh on Nomination as Secretary of the Army
Tuesday, June 2, 2009
– Hall Commends President Obama's Bipartisanship –

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. John Hall (D-Dover), who has served on the West Point Board of Visitors with Rep. John McHugh for the past two years, released the following statement today on McHugh's Nomination as Secretary of the Army.

"Living up to his promise of unity and working in a bipartisan fashion to solve the problems facing America, President Obama has displayed yet again his ability to make the right decisions at the right time in naming Congressman John McHugh as Secretary of the Army. Working with Rep McHugh on the Board of Visitors for West Point and as a fellow member of the New York Congressional Delegation, I have witnessed first hand Congressman McHugh's work ethic, bipartisanship and commitment to our servicemen and women. There is no doubt that he inherits this position at a critical moment in our history. Our nation is engaged in two wars and the men and women of the military, particularly the Army, are facing record deployments, record injuries, and record suicides. I am hopeful that Congressman McHugh will face these tough issues head on, and I look forward to working with him in his new role on national security and to ensure that America's troops and their families are getting the support they deserve."
