The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Secretary Gary Hannig announced today that IDOT’s new innovative website, The Construction Zone Dashboard, went live this morning. The new website provides up to date information on all currently active construction contracts, including those funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, after contract execution.
“This is one more way to offer more accessibility, accountability and transparency within our agency,” said IDOT Secretary Gary Hannig. “The public can get important information about projects in their communities in the convenience of their own home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, just by logging on.”
Governor Pat Quinn today announced $13.1 million in Safe Routes to School grants to
schools and communities across the state. This 100 percent federally funded program is designed to enable and encourage children to walk and bike to school.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announces that beginning Monday, August 3, 2009 there will be
daytime lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-270 at the bridge over the Mississippi River.
The Illinois and Missouri Departments of Transportation are holding two
business networking forums in early August to help businesses connect before the Mississippi River
Bridge goes out for bid in September.
Governor Quinn Enacts $31 Billion Infrastructure Program to Support 439,000 Illinois Jobs Governor Pat Quinn today signed into law bills that create the $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! plan, designed to help revive the state’s ailing economy by creating and retaining more than 439,000 jobs during the next six years. At a bill-signing ceremony, Governor Quinn emphasized that this is the first statewide capital construction effort to become law in more than a decade, and includes money for bridge repairs, road improvements, educational facilities and community projects.

on July 16, 2009 that seek qualified vendors with experience in
Illinois’ transportation-related construction industry who can
provide management assistance (the RFP covers Districts 4 - 9)
and technical assistance (the RFP covers Districts 1 - 9) to its
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs).
