Since the late 1970s, Grufolpawa has been introducing Panamanian culture to the greater Washington, D.C. area through colorful polleras costumes, traditional dances, and vibrant music. Prepare to get up on your feet as they teach the folk dances cumbia and tamborito to live music performed by Jario y sus Muchachos.

Desde finales de los años 70, el grupo de baile Grufolpawa ha llevado la cultura panameña a Washington, DC y sus afueras a través de coloridas polleras, bailes tradicionales y música vibrante. Prepárese a ponerse de pie mientras aprenda los bailes folclóricos de cumbia y tamborito acompañado por la música en vivo del grupo Jario y sus Muchachos.

In the late 1990s a group of photographs long attributed to the avant garde artist Man Ray were discovered to be fakes. The art world was shocked by the long running forgery operation, which had duped experts and collectors. How could this have happened? Paul Messier, a Boston-based conservator and expert in vintage photographic papers, will discuss new research into Man Ray’s techniques and materials, focusing on his investigation into an early print of the iconic Le Violon d’Ingres.
