What’s New in the Grand Salon?

At first glance, works on display in the recently reinstalled Grand Salon may appear unrelated, but there’s a method to Robert Johnston’s groupings. A closer look will reveal themes in the works and relationships among the artists. Join Johnston, a member of the External Affairs staff at the American Art Museum, as he discusses individual artists and their works.

American Art’s Frames Conservator Martin Kotler leads a tour through the new Grand Salon installation and discusses the history of American frames, the challenges museums face with framing, and the unique craft of frame making.
