Outreach

The Health Resource Center (HRC) began its OEF/OIF Outreach Campaign on July 1, 2009. HRC is calling recently discharged Service Members and offering them the opportunity to enroll in VAs health care system. If you want to enroll, you will be transferred to a Health Eligibility Center (HEC) Representative to complete the registration and enrollment process. The HEC has enrolled 98 Veterans as of July 17.

Approximately 837,000 service members have been mobilized since 2002. Only 39% have utilized VHA health care. For this reason, there are several outreach programs that have been initiated which provide our nations veterans and their families with vital information about their benefits and about VA health care they are eligible to receive.

Outreach programs provide the education on these programs and how to access both VA health care and benefits.
