An intern apprentice is any student enrolled in the Mt. Hood Community College Funeral Service Education Program who is serving his / her three month internship at a participating funeral establishment.
Apprenticeship for intern apprentice must be served under persons licensed and working in Oregon who have been licensed for at least one year.
Intern apprentices shall serve their apprenticeships in accordance with the internship guidelines established by the Mt. Hood Community College's Funeral Service Education Program. A copy of the guidelines is available from the Board upon request. |

| Prerequisites: |
An individual must apply for a certificate by applying to the Board on an application form provided by the Board.
The licensee who supervises an apprentice must be working and located in the same licensed facility as the apprentice he / she is supervising.
Intern apprentices are only required to intern at a funeral home for 15 hours per week and may acquire half credit for the three month period toward the twelve month licensing requirement for embalmer toward licensing. If the intern apprentice is also serving an embalmer apprenticeship and is meeting the thirty hour a week requirement set forth in 830-011-0020 (3), then full credit shall accrue toward completion of the embalmer apprenticeship.
All applicants for licenses must consent to a background check, including information solicited from the Department of State Police. |
