Apprentice plumber and limited specialty plumber licenses are issued to individuals who are enrolled in registered apprenticeship or training programs approved by the Oregon State Apprenticeship and Training Council in accordance with Oregon Plumbing Board regulations. These programs provide occupational training that combines paid supervised on-the-job (OJT) experience with classroom instruction.

Apprentices are expected to pay tuition and for books, normally about $400 to $500 per year. In some cases, these costs are paid by the employer or reimbursed to the apprentice by the apprenticeship committee.
Many programs require that apprentices have a basic tool kit and appropriate work clothes and safety equipment such as gloves or goggles. Reliable transportation is important.
A small number of apprenticeship programs charge a non-refundable application fee up to $25. |

Examination Information: |
