Description: An applicant's existing hydroelectric water right may be amended. The period of the new water right is amended to match the time remaining on the original hydroelectric water right. The process for applying for an amendment to a hydroelectric water right is set forth in Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 543.092 and Oregon Adminstrative Rules (OAR) Chapter 690 Division 53. There are substantive limitations on the types of amendments allowed under OAR 690 Division 53.

Additional Information: The Oregon Water Resources Department (OWRD) strongly suggests that any person interested in amending a hydroelectric water right contact OWRD and schedule a pre-application conference to discuss the application process, fees, resource issues, etc.
