Description: |
The making and transcribing of a verbatim record of any court proceeding, deposition, hearing or other matter where the verbatim record is required or requested by any court, grand jury, attorney or referee to be made by means of a written system of either manual or machine shorthand procedures. |

Examination: $100. Original Certificate: $100. Renewal: $100 every two years. |

Examination Information: |
Exam Time: At lease annually. Other times as appropriate and necessary. Exam Locs: varies. Exam Pass: Minimum of 95 percent on each of three test segments. (Three five-minute segments of dictation which must then be transcribed.) Exam Repeat: No limitations. |
Continuing Ed Requirements: |
Complete at least 20 continuing education credits from approved sponsers and approved programs. |
Prerequisites: |
1. Pass the required examination, 2. Comply with continuing education requirements, 3. Adhere to code of conduct, 4. Pay fees.
No ongoing requirement for re-examination exists, provided that certification is maintained. |
