Description: |
Dry cleaners pay fees to fund the Environmental Response Account which is used for cleaning up dry cleaning solvents at contaminated sites. Individual dry cleaners and property owners who pay fees and are otherwise eligible are not liable under Oregon law for the cost of cleaning up a site contaminated due to past practices. |

No application fee but inactive dry cleaning facilities may become eligible for the benefits of the dry cleaner program by paying the following annual fees: $500 for a facility that used any solvent prior to January 1, 1998 and $500 for a facility that used perc since January 1, 1998. |

Prerequisites: |
The opportunity to be listed is limited to inactive dry cleaning facilities eligible to receive funding from the Account as of December 31, 2001 or for facilities that become inactive after January 1, 2002, an application for listing must be submitted within 180 days of becoming an inactive facility. |
