MARS DAY! is an annual National Air and Space Museum event that celebrates the Red Planet with a variety of educational and fun family activities. Visitors can take part in a variety of activities, talk to scientists active in Mars research and learn about current and future missions.

 

Mars Day 2008! was held on July 18.

Visit the Museum next year to celebrate the Moon on the
40th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11, July 16, 2009.

 

At Mars Day!, visitor are able to:

•  See a real meteorite that came from Mars.
•  View the surface of Mars in 3-D with red/blue glasses.
•  Learn about past and current spacecraft visiting Mars.
•  Learn about the latest missions and discoveries.
