Green Leaders Program

Green Leaders, a program of DES's Environmental Leadership Initiative: Applications for Green Leaders accepted April 1 to May 31.

Green Leaders is a way for DES to recognize and drive environmental excellence by encouraging facilities that have strong environmental records and comprehensive, forward-looking mangement to go above and beyond their legal requirements. Members set public, measurable goals to improve the quality of our environment. Green Leaders is operated in cooperation with EPA's analogous program, National Environmental Performance Track.

On March 16, 2009, EPA unexpectedly suspended their Performance Track program. The web-based resources linked to here to support DES's Green Leaders application process, which are available through an EPA contractor, should be available through the summer of 2009.
