United We Serve Goes Green

This week, we're spotlighting the countless ways that volunteers promote energy efficiency, address climate change, and preserve our natural environment. From building trails and restoring parks to weatherizing homes and teaching environmental education, millions of volunteers make a critical contribution to energy independence and environmental stewardship. Through Energy and Environment Week, August 3-9, we'll highlight some of these projects and success stories on our blog and on the homepage.

On July 23rd, in support of United We Serve’s Community Renewal Week, Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ron Sims and Director of White House Office of Urban Affairs Adolfo Carrion teamed up with Teens 4 Good at the East Poplar Urban Farm to harvest potatoes for donation.
