Description: Oregon-based trucking companies complete a Commercial Truck Registration form to register trucks that will operate within Oregon only, or to correct, change, and renew the registration of these trucks. They complete this form to obtain (1) an Oregon Commercial truck license plate, a Weight Receipt and Tax Identifier paper credential, and a registration cab card, (2) an Amended Weight Receipt for trucks already registered and/or an amended cab card, or (3) new validating stickers for an Oregon Commercial truck plate, renewed Weight Receipt and Tax Identifier, and renewed cab card.

Companies pay the full annual registration fee unless they're registering Oregon-based Commercial-plated trucks, in which case they can pay quarterly registration fees.

Companies with trucks registered in Oregon are contacted by the Motor Carrier Transportation Division before the end of each year and requested to renew registration for the next year for those trucks that will continue to operate in Oregon. This renewal process can be completed by returning paperwork and registration payment by mail or by using Trucking Online. Renewal must be completed by January 1 of the following year.

Wonder if a certain company is registered to operate in Oregon? One way to tell is to check if the company has filed proof of insurance for its vehicles. Verify a company's Oregon insurance status.

Also, visit the national Safety and Fitness Electronic Records (SAFER) system to learn more about a company.
