Description: "Pilot apprentice trainee" -- an individual who does not meet the experience requirements of OAR 856-010-0010 (3) and (4), and who has been certified by the Board to enter the Maritime Pilot Apprentice Training Program.

Maritime pilots command ships to steer them into and out of harbors, straits, sounds, rivers, lakes, and bays. They direct the course and the speed of the ship based on their knowledge of wind, weather, tides, currents and local geography.

Duration: One-time issuance lasts for duration of training
