Description: The 1971 Motorist Information Act enabled all states to provide highway logo signs for businesses that provide gas, food, lodging or camping services from interstate highways. These signs were designated as essential services that motorists needed to be aware of in order to have a safe journey through any state. There are 5 different types of services covered:
    Gas
    Food
    Lodging
    Camping
Attractions. Attractions must fall in one of the following categories:
      Cultural
      Historical
      Recreational
      Educational
      Visitor center
Logo signs are seen as alternatives to billboard advertising by many businesses, but in fact they are designated traffic control devices, and must meet all regulations set by the Federal Highway Administration and State sign standards.
