Description: Visit www.rideATVoregon.org, for additional information on 2009 changes to riding on public lands.

Safety education is mandatory for operating quads and three-wheel ATVs (Class I ATVs) and off-road motorcycles (Class III ATVs) on Oregon lands open to public use. Starting Jan. 1, 2009, youth 15 and under and adults supervising youth must complete the Oregon Online ATV Safety Education Course. A valid ATV Safety Education Card (issued after completion of the course) must be carried when operating a Class I or Class III ATV on Oregon lands open for public use. Mandatory training will be phased in for all ages through Jan. 1, 2014. Everyone, regardless of age, will be required to complete online safety training in order to ride on Oregon public lands.

Safety Education Training Schedule
*Jan. 1, 2009, youth 15 and under and adults supervising youth.
*Jan. 1, 2010, 30 and under.
*Jan. 1, 2011, 40 and under.
*Jan. 1, 2012, 50 and under.
*Jan. 1, 2013, 60 and under.
*Jan. 1, 2014, all riders must have an ATV safety education card.

The Oregon Online ATV Safety Course can be accessed at: http://www.rideATVoregon.com/. For those with inadequate internet or computer availability, requests for an alternate form of the course can be made by calling 1-877-772-3359.
