Description: A Grant of Total Exemption is available for mining operations with an activity level that is less than one acre and/or 5,000 cubic yards of new disturbance in any 12-month period, unless the excavated material stays on the property. These exemptions are voluntary and are not required by DOGAMI. A Grant of Total Exemption is a certificate issued by the Department stating that the applicant has provided information to us that their activities will not exceed those that would require an Operating Permit.

Fees - application, exam, etc.:  $50 application service charge
$25 annual renewal if permittee chooses to keep file open

Renewals: Annual report and renewal.

Required Documentation:
The completed Annual Report and Renewal Notice form, must be returned with the $25 service charge and include production from the previous 12-month period.
