Prerequisites: |
1. Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved institution. 2. Complete 30 clock hours or three quarter hours (two semester hours) of course work approved by the State Board of Education which will include the following content areas: a) American school law and legal responsibilities of the school nurse; b) The nursing process in a school setting; c) School health policies, issues and funding; d) School and society; e) Mental health and counseling concepts; f) The exceptional child-disabled, gifted, learning disabled; g) Physical and development assessment of the school-age child; h) The role and responsibilities of the school nurse; i) Human growth, development and learning; j) Diversity; and k) School emergencies. |
