Under Oregon law, all water is publicly owned. With some exceptions, cities, farmers, factory owners, and other water users must obtain a permit or water right from the Water Resources Department to use water from any source, whether it is from underground, lakes, or streams. The following water use permits are those most commonly involved with water related projects.District Permanent or Temporary Water Right Transfers Hydroelectric Water Right Amendment Hydroelectric Water Right, New Major or Minor Public Hydroelectric Water Right, New Major or Minor Private State Hydroelectric Water Right, Reauthorize (Federal or none Federal License) Store Water (Standard or Alternate), Permit to Appropriate Ground or Surface Water, Permit to Water Use/Limited License Water Right Permit Amendment Water Right Permits Issued for Municipal and Quasi-municipal use, Extension of time permit Water Right Substitution Water Right Transfer Time Extension Water Right Transfers, Temporary Transfers, Time Limited Transfers Here is access to all the water use permits information pages. |
