Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB) Workshop
7/14 -- The workshop will be held in Denver September 22-23, 2009.  The course has been designed to meet the needs of those new to the regulations (i.e., reviewing the basics), as well as those well-versed in their understanding of EPA’s regulatory requirements and interpretations (i.e., advanced PCB issues). 5/12 -- The WPDG program provides applicants with opportunities to develop and refine comprehensive wetland programs. More information.

Anadarko to invest millions in spill prevention in Wyoming
5/7 -- Anadarko Petroleum and two related production companies will pay a penalty of more than $1 million and will invest more than $8 million on spill prevention, containment and response measures to resolve violations of the Clean Water Act associated with oil spills on production fields in Park, Johnson and Natrona Counties. Recovery Act spurs cleanup progress at hazardous waste sites
4/10 -- Seven Superfund sites in Region 8 are receiving a boost from Recovery Act funds: Clear Creek and Summitville Colo; Gilt Edge SD; Arsenic Trioxide ND; Upper Tenmile Mont; Bountiful and Eureka Mills Utah.

Montana mine added to Superfund list
4/8 -- EPA announced a proposal to add the Flat Creek Iron Mountain Mine and Mill site in Mineral County, Mont., to the National Priorities List of Superfund sites. The site contains waste tailings piles with levels of arsenic, antimony, lead and manganese that may pose risks to health and the environment. News release.

Recovery Act grants for clean school buses
4/8 -- EPA awarded $1.73M to state environmental agencies in North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming for clean diesel projects that will improve air quality, protect childrens health and create jobs. News release.
