This Web site provides information about environmental projects administered by EPA in Colorado, Montana, North and South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
ARRA will provide significant levels of funding for states to finance high priority infrastructure projects needed to ensure clean water and safe drinking water. The EPA section of the ARRA includes $6 billion in the STAG account: $4 billion for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and $2 billion for the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) capitalization grants. This includes a 1.5% allocation to the Clean Water Indian Set-Aside Grant Program and DWSRF Tribal Set-Aside Program.
Funding from ARRA includes projects to clean Brownfields, speed cleanup work at Superfund sites, support the implementation of diesel emission reduction technologies, identify and repair leaking underground storage tanks, and improve water quality infrastructure.
-
Brownfields: Grants funding will help community groups to evaluate and clean up former industrial and commercial sites.
-
Clean Diesel Projects: Grants will help state and local governments and nonprofit organizations with projects that reduce diesel emissions in Region 8 communities.
-
Clean Water Projects: Significant funding will assist communities with water quality and wastewater infrastructure needs and drinking water infrastructure needs. A portion of the funding will be targeted toward green infrastructure, water and energy efficiency, and environmentally innovative projects.
