Construction has now begun on the NB Willamette River bridge and Patterson Slough Bridge. Use extreme caution while driving in the work zone. Cyclist and pedestrian path users should use caution and expect some delays for construction activity. This project will replace the I-5 bridge over the Willamette River.

I-5, 3 miles North of Intersection with Beltline Highway Incident #:135672 | No to Minimum Delay Construction Work Off Ramp Comments: Work will resume this spring. Project is on schedule for completion this spring. Ramps Affected. Project in on schedule. Work continues on Coburg Industrial Way and Pearl Street, and on the I-5 southbound on-ramp. A temporary signal is in place at Pearl and Coburg Industrial Way to allow trucks access to local businesses. Watch for flaggers and construction vehicles in the area.
This project will improve the I-5/Coburg interchange, and improve the efficiency and safety of travel on Pearl Street, Coburg Industrial Way, and Roberts Road in the City of Coburg. The project will, among other things:
•Close access to Roberts Road on the south side of Pearl Street with a cul de sac.
•Connect Roberts Road to the intersection of Coburg Industrial Way and Pearl Street by constructing a new road, Coburg Industrial Way South.
•Widen and lengthen the I-5 southbound on-ramp to accept 2 lanes turning east to south from Pearl Street.

I-5, Intersection with Beltline Highway Incident #:150082 | Future Event Construction Work Informational only Expected Start Date: 3/25/2013 6:00:00 AM Comments: Traffic control device placement and preliminary construction activities are scheduled to begin in early April. Project Summary: This project will rebuild the interchange at Interstate 5 and Randy Pape’ Beltline Highway to meet modern design and safety standards. State funds from the Jobs and Transportation Act will build:
- A new I-5 southbound to westbound Beltline off-ramp.
- A new I-5 southbound to eastbound Beltline off-ramp.
- A new westbound Beltline to southbound I-5 on-ramp
- A new Beltline Bridge over I-5
- And base construction and structures for a new multi-use path to connect south of the interchange to north of the interchange. The path will open upon completion of Unit 4 scheduled to be constructed in 2016.
This is a two year project. Construction of Unit 3 is scheduled to be completed by November 2014.

ORE569, Eugene Incident #:145648 | No to Minimum Delay Construction Work Off Ramp Lanes Affected: (Westbound) 1 Lane (Eastbound) 1 Lane Comments: Watch for lane closures. Possible lane shift at River Avenue exit. Watch for flaggers directing traffic. Construction continues at all ramp shoulders. Ramps Affected. Remarks: Watch for flaggers directing traffic and construction vehicles leaving and entering the roadway. Construction will continue at the River Road on-ramp and will begin at the River Avenue Exit. Please watch for shoulder, turn lane, and lane closures to facilitate construction.
Summary: This project adds ramp meters at various exits that access the Randy Papé Beltline in Eugene. The eastbound on-ramp at the River Road exit will also be widened. Safety features such as striping, guardrails, and concrete barrier will also be installed or modified.
Ramp meters will be installed at the following locations: Eastbound On Ramps at River Road and River Avenue; Westbound On Ramps at Green Acres and Coburg Road.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2013.
Motorists should anticipate single night ramp closures, lane closures, and shoulder closures, flaggers controlling traffic, and construction vehicles entering and leaving the roadway at the four ramp meter locations. Motorists are encouraged to travel safely through the areas and respect the direction given by flaggers.
