lion yawningCome to the Zoo for the wildest slumber party around.

You may have spent the night in a tent before. But have you ever been woken up by the roar of powerful lions? Or heard the early morning call of playful gibbons? If not, come spend the night at the National Zoo during a Snore & Roar. It’s the best way to see the Zoo’s animals after hours and enjoy the park all to yourself.

Snore & Roar overnights take place between June and September. Online registration begins April 7 at 10 a.m.

Your incredible overnight adventure includes:

  • A two-hour exploration of an animal house or exhibit area, led by a Zoo keeper
  • A late-night flashlight hike through the Zoo
  • Lodging in a four-person tent, provided by FONZ, under a blanket of stars on Lion/Tiger Hill.
(You will not be asked to share your tent with a stranger.)
  • Continental breakfast and a family-friendly morning activity.

Participants must be six years and older to attend Snore & Roar. A paying adult must accompany anyone under 18, and a minimum of one adult must chaperone every three children (under 18).
