Departmental Administration
(DA) provides facilities
management services
for the agencies and
staff offices occupying
USDA's Headquarters
Complex, the George
Washington Carver
Center, and USDA leased
facilities in the
Washington Metropolitan
Area. The goal of
DA's Environmental
Services is to help
sustain a high quality
of life for all USDA
employees and visitors
by protecting and
maintaining a healthy
environment in USDA
facilities. DA provides
recommendations on
the use of environmental
clean up funds and
promote the partnership
with federal, state
and local agencies,
tribal organizations
and private parties
in prioritizing, planning,
and carrying out environmental
cleanup activities.
Under this activity,
DA participates directly
in USDA Goal 5: Protect
and enhance the Nations
natural resource base
and environment.
Environmental sustainability
is a key initiative
in USDA and Departmental
Administration is
USDA's leader in reconciling
economic effectiveness,
environmental performance
and social responsibility.
