Construction Contracts
The OGS Design and Construction Group (D&C) "on behalf of several client agencies" engages in public bid openings every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. These agencies include: Department of Transportation; Department of Correctional Services; Division of Military and Naval Affairs; Office of Mental Health; Children and Family Services; SUNY Construction Fund and others.
The building construction contracts range from several thousands to millions of dollars in construction value. Per Executive Law, Article 15-A, construction contracts in excess of $100,000 contain Affirmative Action requirements for the utilization of certified Minority & Women-Owned Businesses as subcontractors and suppliers. Article 15-A also requires the utilization of minorities & female employment on the Construction Site.

Only MBE/WBE firms certified by the Division of Minority & Women's Business Development can be utilized to meet M/WBE good faith effort participation goals on all contracts. The use of non-certified firms that have submitted applications for certification  , but are not approved prior to completion of the contract, are not acceptable for goal attainments. Advertisements for construction and architectural/engineering contracts are placed in local periodicals and the Empire State Builder (ESB).

The cost of these plans and specifications is $10.00 ($8.00 + $2.00 S&H), and should be forwarded in the form of a check or money order made payable to the Office of General Services. (write your firm's federal ID and phone number on it)
Design and Construction has also established the following toll free number to allow orders to be placed for plans and specifications by telephone rather than having to submit your request by mail.

Be sure to include the following information in your e-mail order:
Name and address of your company
Your Company's Federal Identification Number
Company Phone and Fax Numbers
Number of Copies of plans and specification
Contract number of Plans you wish to purchase
E-mail orders received before noon will be shipped that afternoon.
Plan purchasers will be invoiced for the cost of the Plans & Specifications.
