The Department of Environmental Protection  provides Connecticut based information and data to a variety of users in an array of formats. The most visible outlet for traditional printed material and resources, maps and some digital products is the DEP Store.

The DEP Store provides natural history, geological, environmental and outdoor recreational information to citizens, teachers, students, consultants, state, local and federal agencies, hunters, fishing enthusiasts, property owners, banks, private businesses, and environmental groups.

The DEP Store is the point of distribution for the publications of the Connecticut Geological and Natural History Survey including the Natural Diversity Database.  The store also carries many titles from various not-for-profit and smaller publishers, as well as U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute topographic maps for the entire state.  The store can also produce Maps on Demand.

All titles are available at the Walk-in Store (see above for hours).  The DEP Online Store offers many of our most popular titles.

Our goal is to provide the citizens of Connecticut with a  central location to obtain natural resources information about our state and surrounding areas.  We strive for the best quality at affordable prices. Publishing and printing are funded through publication sales and donations, and our publications are among the best in the nation when it comes to environmentally friendly materials. The latest and most sensitive processes are employed in coatings, inks and papers.

Many of our publications are available for viewing at libraries around the state, including the Connecticut State Library.
