Assistance with PSE&G Winter Heating Bills is available to residents who recently lost their jobs or are now working fewer hours due to the economic downturn. The federal Low Income Heating Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is being funded at dramatically increased levels over last year and eligibility is based on last month's income. Many more households will be able to participate in the program for the first time. You will find detailed information on the home page under the heading "News". Biodiesel Pilot Project - At 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, July 30th, Mayor Dianne Didio started up the 1st Oradell Vehicle Powered by Recycled Waste Vegetable Oil! This historic event took place at the Oradell DPW Garage. Oradell became only the 2nd Community in the Tri-State Area to have a vehicle powered by its' own recycled waste vegetable oil donated by local restaurants. Please look for the "This Truck Runs On Recycled Vegetable Oil" truck(s) in the Borough. Channel 77 captured the event and will air the segment periodically. Bridge Closure - The Elm Street Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic, for safety reasons, immediately and for an indefinite time. Please note: On Tuesday, August 26, at 7:00 p.m., at the public meeting of the Mayor and Council, the County's Engineering Department presented options for the rehabilitation/repair of the bridge. At the present time, it is estimated that the bridge will be closed by the County for 10-12 months. Periodic updates will be provided here.
