ReStore located on Iron Mountain Road in Mine Hill. Shop,
volunteer or donate materials for sale at the ReStore. The
ReStore keeps building materials, furniture and appliances out of
the landfill by accepting donations of these new and gently used
materials for sale at low prices. The proceeds fund
Morris Habitat for Humanity's home building projects.

 Transfer
Station Customers' Final Notice to Update Insurance
- The MCMUA must receive
updated insurance certificates by August 15, 2008 or you will be
denied access to the transfer stations.
- The MCMUA has been able to lessen
insurance requirements for smaller vehicles (less than 26,000
lbs.) but there are revisions to the additionally insured
endorsements for all customers that must be made and supplied to
the MCMUA. Failure to update your insurance accordingly and
provide proof to the MCMUA will result in you being denied
access to the MCMUA's transfer stations. It is your
responsibility to keep your insurance up-to-date and to provide
the necessary proof of coverage to the MCMUA..
This is your final warning, so please forward your
updated insurance certificates to the MCMUA. Click below to read

 Safety
Note -
In July
2003, July 2008 and again in September 2008 fires occurred at
the MCMUA's Mount Olive transfer station. In each instance it
is suspected that a small quantity of pool chemical was
improperly disposed of in the regular trash and started the
fire. Never throw away pool chemicals, or other household
hazardous wastes, in the regular garbage. Click

County Increases Recycling Inspections at Transfer Stations - Click

regarding an increase in recycling inspections at the transfer stations. The inspections target the improper disposal
of designated recyclables with the trash. Click

 Morris
County Recycling Plan Update is Certified by the NJDEP- Click
here to read Morris County's most recent recycling plan update
called Response to the January 2006 New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Solid Waste Management and
Sludge Management State Plan Update - March 2007. This plan was
adopted by the Freeholders on April 11, 2007 and certified by NJDEP on October 10, 2007.

Drop-Off is Now Year Round
A "Catch the Fever" Mercury Thermometer
Disposal Program once again hits Morris County! Instead of
running for six months a year, this program is now runs all year
long. To get rid of their mercury in an environmentally safe manner,
Morris County residents may bring their mercury fever thermometers
to participating pharmacies, municipal health departments, and other

Regular Hours of Compost Facilities:
Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Special Leaf Season Hours :
For
the leaf season,
between October 25, 2008 and December 6, 2008 the compost facilities will be
open on Saturdays. Hours are Monday through Saturday 7:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Both
compost facilities
are currently accepting source-separated brush, leaves, grass and wood chips and
in addition, wood mulch and unscreened compost are available.
Commercial contractors are not permitted to enter facilities between noon and
1:00 p.m. Compost
facilities are CLOSED on the following holidays: Columbus Day
(10/13/08),
Thanksgiving (11/27/08), and Christmas (12/25/08).
Dump/material tickets are to be purchased at each individual compost facility
and all commercial entities (landscapers, contractors, etc.) must pay in full by
check (no cash or credit cards accepted) at the the time of dumping or
purchasing materials. The old Shade Tree ticket office on West Hanover
Ave. no longer distributes any tickets. Note:
all tickets expire at the end of the year in which they were
purchased.

station tipping fees -

MCMUA
Pays $290,000 to Municipalities for Material They Recycled in 2007 -
Nineteen
Morris County municipalities have received a approximately $290,000
for recyclable materials they sent to the MCMUA Recycling
Consolidation Center in Dover, combined with other materials markets
through the MCMUA in 2007. Click
