Dear Neighbors,
I hope this year finds you and your family in good health. It is my pleasure to begin another year with you as your Mayor; a job that I take very seriously and to which I devote a great deal of my heart and energy.
Through fiscal responsibility, the Governing Body and I will work hard to keep property taxes at the lowest possible rate without effecting local services. The Governing Body will have two new members and I look forward to working with them for the betterment of Stanhope.
As a small municipality, we continue to be challenged to look for new ways to save taxpayer dollars while meeting rising costs. Smaller municipalities such as ours are often faced with “doing more with less.”
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers who serve in varying capacities. Community volunteers are truly the backbone of our community and help to minimize the fiscal impact of providing needed programs and services to our residents.
As we move forward, it is essential for all of us – residents, businesses and Borough officials – to work cooperatively to achieve mutually-beneficial results.
We must all take a renewed pride in our community, always respecting our past, but with an eye to the future, so that Stanhope can continue to be a community we are happy and proud to call home.
