Beach nourishment operations have resumed; it is a 24/7 operation. The sand is conveyed via a pipeline, which extends from the dredge in Corson's Inlet to the area of the fill, currently approaching 43rd Street. The pipe will eventually extend all the way to 52nd Street.
Once the beach nourishment is complete, it will take several days to dismantle the pipeline. All beaches will remain open during the project with the exception of about four to six blocks in the area of the fill. As the fill moves to the south, the beach behind the fill will be reopened and the beaches in front of the fill will be closed. Beach nourishment operations have been completed in the north end of the City, from 1st to 15th Street.
Questions regarding the project can be directed to Sea Isle City Director of Public Works, John Manganaro, at 609 263-6000, ext. 3; or e-mail jmanganaro@seaislecitynj.us .
