Barbara Craig
Barbara Craig is a natural resources attorney with the law firm of Stoel Rives LLP, as well as a professional forester. Craig´s practice involves Endangered Species Act issues, including the Shortnose and Lost River suckers, the Oregon silverspot butterfly and the Northern spotted owl. She has served on the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee for revisions to the Oregon Endangered Species Act, and on the Oregon State University Forest Research Laboratory Advisory Committee. "I care deeply about Oregon´s forests and natural resources," Craig says, "Oregon must continue to take strong leadership in the management of our private, state, and federal forestlands."

Larry Giustina has been managing general partner of Giustina Land and Timber Company since 1990. His family has been in the wood products business for three generations. His father helped institute Oregon's Forest Practices when he served on the Board of Forestry in the early 1970s.  "Oregon has been good to my family and I'd like to give back to the state as well as the forests of Oregon, which I cherish and love, " says Giustina. Giustina holds a baccalaureate in Business from Oregon State University.

Peter Hayes
Peter Hayes, of Portland, brings a diverse background - natural resource educator active in conservation projects, and family forestland owner and manager - to the Board of Forestry.  From 2003 - 2005, Hayes served as assistant director of Oregon Trout's Healthy Waters Institute, helping launch the innovative education program.  More recently, Hayes co-founded the Build Local Alliance, creatively linking wood from local forests with innovative local projects.  For Oregon's forests and forestry to thrive, he says, "we are challenged to move beyond short-term thinking and 'either-or' simplifications to build forward-looking approaches designed to work as well in the long run as they do in the short run."

Bill Hutchison is an attorney with the law firm of Foster Pepper Tooze LLP in Portland.  He has been engaged in forestry and natural resource issues throughout his career.  His professional affiliations include the Oregon State Bar, Multnomah County Bar Association, and American Bar Association.  He works wtih the Oregon Department of Forestry "and my fellow board members in developing consensus programs that will serve Oregonians and their forest resources well over the long term." Hutchison's practice emphasis has been on cooperative, corporate, real property, and environmental law. In addition to his JD degree, he holds a bachelor's degree in economics.

Calvin Mukumoto
Calvin Mukumoto, a member of the Forest Stewardship Council's U. S. board of directors, brings a national perspective on the sustainable management of forests to the Board of Forestry.  A Bend-based consulting forester and manager of the Warm Springs Tribes' biomass project, Mukumoto's interest in serving on the board is to "help create a sustainable future for Oregon and its forests."  "Given the measures of environment, economics, and community, I believe the best examples of sustainability reside in our Oregon forests, " adds Mukumoto.

Jennifer Phillippi
Jennifer Phillippi is Business Manager of Rough & Ready Lumber Company She is also President of Perpetua Forests Company, and is a third-generation family sawmill owner and forest landowner. Phillippi served as a core stakeholder in the development of the Board of Forestry's strategic plan, the 2003 Forestry Program for Oregon, a public process about which she says she was "heartened to see a thoughtful and balanced attitude towards an issue that in other settings often becomes politically divisive with ineffective results," Phillippi views the current Oregon Forest Practices Rules as both "productive and flexible, allowing landowners to respond to the conditions of different forest types while also accommodating diverse individual objectives. Having grown up in a rural, forested area, she has a particularly close connection to the woods.
