Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, agriculture, communications, or a closely related field.
  2. Four years work experience promoting or marketing agricultural products.
  3. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Working knowledge of state and national livestock industry.
  • Knowledge of the principles of feeding livestock.
  • Work experience promoting or marketing livestock related products.
  • Work experience developing and implementing marketing plans and feasibility studies. 
  • Work experience developing and implementing strategies, programs, and/or projects to expand the livestock industry.
  • Experience working with livestock producers, producer and commodity groups, processors, community leaders, and economic development officials. 
  • Work experience researching, writing, and presenting livestock related information.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

Summary of Work:

This position will assist North Dakota dairy and livestock producers to develop and sustain the state’s livestock industry by enhancing the production, processing and marketing of their products.  In addition, provide technical support, research, and contact information to commodity groups, individual producers, processors and producer cooperatives to enhance profitability of livestock industry in order to secure a stable livestock industry. Must have valid driver’s license; position requires statewide travel.  Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
