The Portraits Alive! tour offers an innovative journey that breathes life into the people featured in paintings, prints, and photographs in the National Portrait Gallery. Visitors will stop at nine different portraits throughout the museum and watch as Teen Ambassadors perform brief biographical narratives featuring such well-known people as Rudolph Valentino, Lena Horne, Juliette Gordon Low, Angela Davis, and more. The dramatic interpretations are written and performed by the Ambassadors, who have participated in an eight-week youth program at the Portrait Gallery that fuses the disciplines of history and theater. Elena Ulyanova Russian pianist Elena Ulyanova received her Master of Music from the Moscow Conservatory and is a laureate of the Second Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition.
