The Commission on Judicial Fitness and Disability reviews complaints about Oregon state judges, justices of the peace, and municipal judges. It then investigates those complaints about conduct that might violate the state's Code of Judicial Conduct or Article VII (amended), Section 8 of the state constitution. If the Commission files formal charges, it holds a public hearing on the charges. The Commission can recommend that the Supreme Court censure a judge or suspend or remove the judge from office. The Supreme Court then makes the final decision.
