ISDA > Strategic Plan Strategic Plan

On June 25, 2009 Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman presented a roadmap for continued growth in Indiana agriculture at Kelsay Dairy, a six generation dairy farm in rural Johnson County.  The roadmap is an update to the Indiana State Department of Agriculture’s strategic plan and will guide the Department’s focus over the next four years.

Under the leadership of Governor Mitch Daniels and Lt. Governor Skillman, Indiana has seen over $4 billion in investment and 4,000 jobs in food and agriculture added to the state.  Moving forward, the Administration’s vision is that Indiana will be a global leader in innovation and commercialization for food, fuel and fiber production.  To accomplish that vision, the Department will focus its resources on initiatives under three core strategies of advocacy, economic opportunity and environmental stewardship.
