ATTORNEY GENERAL RENO AND HER COUNTERPARTS FROM THE EIGHT
TO MEET VIA GLOBAL VIDEO CONFERENCE ON TUESDAY AT 6:30 A.M.
WASHINGTON, D.C. Attorney General Janet Reno and her counterparts from The Eight (G-8) a group of the world's major industrialized democracies will meet via video conference on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. ET to discuss efforts to combat fundraising by terrorist groups and efforts to fight transnational organized crime.
Reno and the G8 Justice and Interior Ministers will "meet" in nine different locations world-wide for the first time since their first meeting in Washington last December. This is the first-ever international video conference involving G-8 Ministers.
The opening remarks of the Chair of the Ministerial, Home Secretary Jack Straw of the United Kingdom, and each of the eight Justice and Interior Ministers will be open to the media.

Credentialed reporters will be admitted for opening remarks, and pool video will be provided by CNN. The media will be asked to leave at the conclusion of the opening remarks.
