Electronic Filing Waiver Program

Electronic Filing Waiver Program
Electronic filing of reports holds many advantages over paper filing.

One advantage is the ‘Electronic Filing Waiver Program’. If a county clerk opts to participate in this program, no electronically filed documents need be filed with the county clerk. Filing these reports electronically is sufficient to satisfy the local and state/local committees’ dual filing obligation.

Therefore, if your Committee is a local or a state/local committee and your county clerk has opted to participate in this program, you need not file a copy of your electronically filed report with the county clerk.

Electronic Waiver County List
On August 21, 2003 the Governor signed legislation establishing a Filing Waiver Program that relieves participating counties of most of the requirement to receive and maintain paper copies of reports from political committees, provided that public Internet access to the Illinois State Board of Elections web page is available.

The following Counties have agreed to participate in the Electronic County Filing Waiver Program. If your political committee is active in any of these counties and you file electronically, your committee is no longer required to file copies of its reports.

However, the D-1 Statement of Organization, and any written correspondence must still be filed with the counties.
