Hoeven Requests Army Corps of Engineers Ice Jam Specialist
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that he has sent a National Guard C12 jet to Omaha, Nebraska to pick up Roger Kay, an engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers who specializes in ice jam flooding and the technologies used to mitigate it. Hoeven earlier spoke with the office of Omaha District Commander Col. David Press to make the request.
Kay, who will arrive this evening, will evaluate ice formations on the Missouri River and provide recommendations and options for addressing possible obstructions that might be backing water up onto property in the Fox Island area.
Additional information will be available Tuesday
