Overview: A comprehensive system of academic supports in the social studies ensures that all students receive high-quality instruction in the general education classroom setting and immediate support for students who are beginning to struggle. In order to ensure that all students can successfully access a quality curriculum and achieve the needed levels of civic efficacy that the nation requires of its citizens, effective instruction and support in social studies is critical.
