Secretary Chu and Governor Strickland to Help Weatherize Columbus, Ohio Home
Secretary Chu to Make a Recovery Act Funding Announcement and Deliver the Commencement Address at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College

Washington, DC – Governor Ted Strickland will welcome U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu to Columbus, OH, to help weatherize a local resident's home, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Governor Strickland and Secretary Chu, along with the homeowner, will tour the outside of the home and view rooms inside undergoing weatherization improvements.

Following the tour, there will be a media availability to discuss what these investments in energy efficiency mean for Ohio’s economy and how homeowners can save on their energy bills. Secretary Chu will also make a funding announcement regarding the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act at the event.While in Ohio, Secretary Chu will later deliver the keynote address at the Cincinnati State Technical and Community College Commencement. He will challenge the school’s graduates to play an active role in solving the energy and climate change challenges.
