North Dakota Faith-based and Community Initiatives

North Dakota Faith-based and Community Initiatives.North Dakota's Faith-based and Community Organizations Initiative was formed as a result of Senate Bill 2349 of the 2005 Legislative Session. The bill placed the duties of the Commission within the Office of the Governor. With the assistance of the Faith-based and Community Organizations Advisory Commission, the Governor's Office will strive to align faith-based and community organizations with service and funding opportunities.

North Dakota's commitment to serving its citizens is strong. North Dakota consistently ranks in the top 5 states for percentage of people who volunteer their time to help others in need. With increased awareness and links to funding sources, we hope that those volunteer hours can be multiplied to serve a greater number of people in a meaningful way.
