Concord, NH – Dr. José Montero, the Director of Public Health at the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), has announced confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of a second New Hampshire resident diagnosed with H1N1 (swine flu). This is the second Concord Hospital employee who had been considered a probable case pending final confirmation. Dr. Montero also announced two new probable cases that are currently being tested for H1N1.

The Centers for Disease Control has confirmed the H1N1 diagnosis in two Concord Hospital employees.
Six Probable Cases Awaiting CDC Confirmation
New Hampshire is currently awaiting confirmation of H1N1 virus in the following cases:
An Upper Valley resident
18-year-old Kearsarge High School student
15-year-old New Hampton School student
Nashua 13-year-old (attends school in Massachusetts)
19-year-old Kearsarge High School student
Second Nashua 13-year-old
Samples tested
Through late Tuesday afternoon, the State Public Health Lab has completed testing on 354 samples. Further results will be announced as they are finalized.
