Safeguards and Security (S&S) Training Program
DOE missions must be accomplished without interruption, disruption, or compromise
due to security concerns. The goal of the Safeguards and Security (S&S) Training
Program is to train DOE Federal and contractor employees in the protection of those
security interests whose loss, theft, compromise, or unauthorized use would seriously
affect national security, DOE programs, the environment, or the health and safety
of employees or the public.
The S&S Training Program is DOE’s primary source for training its six
S&S program elements:
Program Planning and Management(PPM),
which includes
Foreign Interactions (FI),
Survey,
and Vulnerability Assessment (VA);
Personnel Security (PERSEC);
Physical Protection (PHYPRO);
Protective Force;
Nuclear Material Control and Accountability (NMC&A);
and Information Security (INFOSEC).
