THREE WINNERS IN TWO COUNTIES
SPLIT $170,361 JERSEY CASH 5 JACKPOT
TRENTON, NJ – (December 29, 2008) – The three owners of Jersey Cash 5 jackpot tickets that were sold in Hudson and Bergen Counties have split the top prize of $170,361 for the Jersey Cash 5 drawing held on Saturday, December 27. Each of the three winning tickets is worth $56,787.
Acting Executive Director William T. Jourdain said the winning tickets were the only three sold for Saturday's drawing that matched all five numbers drawn. The winning numbers were: 15, 17, 22, 28 and 30.
Two winning tickets were sold at the same store in Hudson County , and one of the winning tickets was sold in Bergen County . The Hudson County tickets were purchased at K & S Delicatessen LLC, located at 299 Danforth Avenue in Jersey City . The Bergen County ticket was purchased at Village Stationers Inc., located at 51 West Main Street in Ramsey.
“We are thrilled that the winning jackpot tickets were sold at K & S Delicatessen LLC and Village Stationers Inc., ” said Acting Executive Director Jourdain. “For selling these tickets, each of these businesses will receive a bonus check for $750. Overnight, these retailers have become two more ‘lucky locations' for some very fortunate winners.”
Jourdain also noted that 3,087 other players won $73,694 in cash prizes in the drawing. For correctly picking four numbers, 101 players won cash prizes of $434.00 each, and for correctly matching three numbers, 2 ,986 players won $10.00 each.
Jersey Cash 5 is among the Lottery's more popular games with an average jackpot of $300,000. Sales from Jersey Cash 5 last year were just under $126 million.
