NEW JERSEY SELLS TWO WINNING $250,000 TICKETS
AS OHIO PLAYER HITS $207 MILLION JACKPOT
Hudson and Monmouth County Winners Join Growing Ranks of NJ Mega Millions Winners
TRENTON , NJ – (December 15, 2008) – A player from Ohio won the $207 million Mega Millions jackpot for the drawing held on Friday, December 12 . In addition, two lucky New Jersey Lottery players won the Mega Millions second prize of $250,000. One of the winning tickets was sold in Hudson County , and was purchased at J.R. Liquors, located at 6714 Park Avenue in Guttenberg. The other lucky ticket was sold in Monmouth County at the Marlboro Convenience Store, located at 8 South Main Street in Marlboro. The jackpot now resets to $12 million for the Tuesday, December 16 drawing.
“Congratulations to J.R. Liquors and the Marlboro Convenience Store ,” said the Lottery's Acting Executive Director William T. Jourdain. “ For selling these tickets, they will each receive a bonus check for $500. They have become two of the Lottery's most recent ‘lucky locations' overnight.”
In addition to the Garden State 's two second-prize winners, 261,937 other New Jersey players took home $1,174,940 in prizes ranging from $2 to $10,000, according to Jourdain.
Jourdain also noted that the many New Jersey Mega Millions prize recipients were not the only ‘winners' in this jackpot roll. “From this Mega Millions jackpot roll alone, which began on October 24 th , New Jersey generated nearly $21.7 million in support of state programs and an estimated $2.6 million in commissions for our lottery retailers. Mega Millions is truly a winning experience for all citizens of the Garden State .”
The winning numbers for the Friday, December 12 drawing were: 10, 16, 19, 27, and 48 and the Gold Mega Ball number was 25. T he Mega Millions jackpot will reset to $12,000,000 for the next drawing, which will be held on Tuesday, December 16 at 11:00 pm on NJN-TV –the New Jersey Network.
