Health Officer Information Services provides technical assistance and training to the Health Officers of NH's cities and towns. The Health Officer Liaison is the principal DHHS representative in these efforts. Technical assistance and training are provided via training conferences throughout the year as well as at training meetings throughout NH.
Health Officer Information Services includes the provision of information about public health areas that health officers may need to address as part of daily functions in their communities, and forms that health officers may need during the course of public health inspections. Information and forms are both available electronically.
Currently, 217 town and city health officers respond to local public health issues. In 16 communities the local Board of Selectman acts in the capacity of health officer.
