Teacher Working Conditions Data in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont: A Descriptive Summary

Abstract:
Among the critical factors affecting teacher retention and teacher quality is the state of teachers’ working conditions (TWC). Despite the prospective significance of TWC for state teacher policy, the REL Northeast and Islands Region lacks a clear picture of whether and how well state data systems capture these conditions and whether available data can be consolidated to answer policymakers' pressing questions. This descriptive project summarizes TWC data in three REL-NEI states and profiles four out-of-region states with highly developed TWC data.
