In meetings of Central Region principals from rural schools, attendees expressed concerns about student mobility levels. This study is intended to inform state education agencies and school districts about the degree and location of current rural student mobility, by district, in their states. States currently collect mobility data; however, only three Central Region states currently make these data publicly available on the Internet. This study proposes to create a graphical depiction of student mobility data within the Central Region states, which is intended to assist states in helping their districts meet the needs of highly mobile student populations.
